Making waves in pool management with IoT integrations

gammarenax

Mobile app interface displaying natural pool water metrics with temperature, pH, and chlorine readings on a clean, modern design.

gammaRenax, a leading facility management company, now part of ISS Facility Services AG, recognized that their clients faced challenges with pool management processes. Think of public swimming pools such as Therme Zurzach or similar facilities. For them, manual water quality monitoring is time-consuming and prone to human error. To address these issues, gammaRenax sought a scalable IoT solution to automate data collection and enhance client reporting accuracy.

Forming a collaborative partnership

To tackle this challenge, gammaRenax partnered with akenza, comtac, and headbits. The goal was to develop an IoT-based system that could integrate with existing pool infrastructures and streamline pool management for gammaRenax's clients.

akenza, as the key IoT partner, worked alongside gammaRenax and comtac to implement the sensor network for the pools. This network utilized LoRaWAN technology for long-range, energy-efficient data transmission. The sensors collected critical water quality metrics, including pH levels and chlorine concentration.

Designing an intuitive user experience

headbits' role in this project focused on app design and development. Our team was responsible for creating the interface and user experience for the ARGUS platform. We integrated the data collected by the IoT sensors into the platform through akenza's API, ensuring that the information was presented in a clear and actionable format.

The ARGUS platform we developed allows users to monitor pool conditions remotely and manage compliance with health regulations efficiently.

By focusing on intuitive design and user-friendly interfaces, we aimed to make the transition to digital pool management as smooth as possible for gammaRenax's clients.

Enabling data-driven decision making

With the ARGUS platform, pool managers now have access to real-time data, enabling them to make informed decisions quickly. The automated system reduces the potential for human error in data collection and facilitates accurate reporting to authorities.

The benefits of this digital approach extend beyond data collection. By automating routine tasks, staff can allocate more time to other critical aspects of facility management. The system also simplifies regulatory compliance through its automated reporting mechanisms, reducing the administrative workload.

This project showcases how the strategic application of IoT technology, combined with thoughtful design, can address longstanding challenges in traditional industries. It demonstrates headbits' commitment to forming digital products that meet real-world needs and enhance operational processes.

As we continue to work on projects that merge technology with practical applications, collaborations like this pave the way for more efficient operations across various sectors. By focusing on user needs and leveraging the strengths of each partner, we can create solutions that truly make a difference in day-to-day operations.
